I hadn't finished reading Midnight Bayou when I couldn't take it anymore and started to watch the (Lifetime) movie on OnDemand. About a minute/minute and a half into the movie, it was already wayyy different than the book, so I stopped watching it. I finished the book last night and watched the movie today. I know they change a lot when they turn a book into a movie but I was really disappointed with HOW MUCH they changed. I think next time, I'll watch the movies first, then read the book. It's harder to be let down by the movie that way.
